Crowns & Bridges

Dental crowns and bridges are both types of dental prosthetics that are used to restore the function or improve the appearance of a person’s smile.

Crowns are placed over the teeth in order to cover any damage or cosmetic flaws, usually following a root canal. The crown adds strength to the vulnerable tooth and protects it from further harm. When well cared for, dental crowns can last up to fifteen years before requiring replacement.

Bridges are used to replace missing teeth and are anchored in place by the surrounding healthy teeth. A bridge is created by attaching two crowns to the healthy teeth on either side of the gap, with a false tooth (or teeth) in between. Bridges can last up to seven years with proper care.
